Job purpose:

The successful candidate will be working within the motor insurance claims teams, for customers who have been involved in an accident, which wasn’t their fault.  You will be looking to assist the customer on how to claim money back that is due to them, as a result of the accident.  Your role will involve liaising with third parties to seek reimbursement of all or part of the accident claim costs, using different strategies to maximise the success rate and keeping time scales to a minimum.

You will record and process insurance claims in accordance with procedures and maintaining files.  With responsibility of dealing with allocated claims as speedily and efficiently as possible from outset to conclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To proactively record, process and settle claims in accordance with the principles and procedures and to maintain files within service standards
  • To ensure that all files are updated.
  • To be personally responsible for ensuring the reserves fully reflect the level of damages on each file
  • To process cheques on claims files as required and in accordance with your authority
  • To identify potential fraudulent claims and action as per guidelines
  • Ensure liability is agreed within existing case law and accident circumstances
  • Effectively negotiate with customers, suppliers all relevant third party representatives

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
